This company creates and delivers a full line of strategic solutions in the areas of Strategic Publication Planning, Medical Communications, Medical Education, and Medical Publishing. At the Amsterdam Office a staff of 80 (30 nationalities!) successfully increase their business.

Program Manager / Account Manager (Medical Communications / Education)
Makes Pharmaceutical Events happen, closely liasing with clients and colleagues
What will be your role?
As a Program manager/ Account manager you are the hub of many medical communication/education accounts. You realise Events either small (Advisory Board meetings) or large (2 day congress with 500 participants and 12 expert-speakers). Not only are you responsible for organizing and delivering medical communication/education services, but also for day to day contact with Key Thought Leaders (Physicians, Professors) whom you spot, brief and support in the months before the event.
Key responsibility is to build and maintain optimal relationships with clients: Global or European Headquarters of Pharmaceutical companies. Your counterparts there are Marketing Directors, Medical Directors or Productmanagers. Together you translate their marketing and communication needs into meaningful events such as Symposia or Advisory Board meetings. In addition, you (make) realise companying materials: training and education materials, product monographs, and e-learning / online media solutions and also congress booth activities. Last but not least: you are expected to take charge of project management, preparation and monitoring of budgets and timelines, on-site management of live events, and logistics management. In this you get support. You closely cooperate with your account team members (Editorial, Production, Medical Advisors, Project Coordinators) and you report to the Program Director.
Who am I looking for?
Ideally you meet as much as possible of these criteria:
- Drive and the ambition to succeed: commitment is a key-competence in this role
- Projectmanagement: proven experience with organizing and delivering events: conferences, symposia, preferably medical communication/education projects in the international arena
- You have worked either in a medical communication agency or pharmaceutical company
- Life Science degree (BSc or higher) or equivalent experience: you are not responsible for the medical content but must have some understanding of the matter to successfully communicate with all involved! Is your degree in marketing or ‘business’? This can be compensated if you have at least experience in the pharmaceutical area.
- Excellent English (speech ánd writing) and outstanding communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and work to tight deadlines
- Experienced in Word, Excell and especially Powerpoint, exceptional attention to detail
- Competent in teamwork ánd with a strong clientfocus, preferably with affinity for pharmaceutical marketing and medicine in general
You don’t have to live in the Amsterdam area already, but must be willing to move here if you now live abroad: most of your job is done at the Amsterdam office, although you do travel (between 10 and 15 times a year). Are you an expat? This company helps with relocation and there is an attractive tax-reduction. (Valid EU work permit required.)
What does my client offer you in return?
You’ll get a demanding but rewarding, entrepreneurial position. If you qualify, promotion to Sr. Program Manager is within reach. Your contract will be 36 hrs per week. As your contacts are global, you’ll have to manage your contacts partly after office hours, which you can do at home. Extra time you put in, can be compensated with extra days off.
Remuneration package is highly competitive and commensurate with experience. This company pays an extra 13th month, has profit sharing, on the spot bonuses and pays 2/3 of your pension. The Amsterdam Staff organises structured monthly training programs, you can also enroll in the overall professional training and enjoy the office gym.
